Coach Fred
Coach Fred was an All Conference Scottie during his time at Southmoreland, going on to play at Tulsa and Cal U. He began his coaching career at Southmoreland in 2005 and went on to coach for Charleroi and Ringold before returning to Southmoreland in 2017. Coach Fred was an instrumental part in ending Southmoreland's 40-year playoff drought and changing the culture of Southmoreland Football. He not only coached the highschools offensive line, but he also coached Division 3 Youth Football. Coach Fred deeply cared about his family and his players. Before he passed, his dream came true as he was chosen to be Southmoreland's Head Coach. His memory and impact will forever leave an impression on Southmoreland.

The Coach Ron "Fred" Frederick Memorial Youth Camp has served as a focus of heavily building these young kids’ individual skills and also their leadership and teambuilding abilities, a large life lesson of football heavily pushed by Coach Fred.
It is going to be a molding experience for many of our youth athletes, and truly is a large staple of how impactful our community is and what we have made tribute to the man who impacted so many of us.
